Biography
Born in 2002, Espuny often works with some of the best artists in the area on stages such as the Palau de la Música, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and other theatres in cities such as Manresa, Vic, Girona and Tarragona.
Specializing in choral music, he performs regularly with Cor Veus and Cor Jove dels Amics de la Unió de Granollers, Cor Bruckner and Orfeó Vigatà. He has also collaborated with the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the National Youth Choir of Catalonia. He has worked with artists such as Jordi Casas, Mireia Barrera, Josep Vila, Julia Sesé and Daniel Mestre as a pianist for different choirs.
In 2024 he makes his debut at the Palau de la Música performing From the Bavarian Highlands by Elgar with Orfeó Vigatà, and at the LIFE Victoria Festival with Héctor Ruiz Vilches as LIFE New Artists, with works by Toldrà.
He has been awarded in several competitions, such as the Stagnum Prize (2015), the Concurs de Joves Intèrprets de Catalunya (2019) and the International Piano Competition of Villahermosa, México (2023). He has also been awarded a scholarship by the Ferrer-Salat Foundation and the Liceu Foundation. In 2019 he received the Osona Promise of the Year Award, granted by the Osona Regional Council.
He has studied with Joan Ribé, Vicenç Prunés and Tensy Krismant, at the Vic music school, the Escolania de Montserrat and the Liceu Conservatory. He has also received master classes from internationally recognized artists such as Akiko Ebi, Josep Maria Colom, Alba Ventura and Ilya Maximov.
Espuny also works in productions as a continuo player, performing works of great complexity such as The Messiah by Händel, the Great Mass in C minor by Mozart, and several cantatas by Bach and Buxtehude.
